The Dante Alighieri Society was founded in Rome in 1889 by a group of Italian intellectuals led by Giosuè Carducci.
Its mission is to promote the Italian language and culture worldwide, fostering a love for Italian civilization among foreigners. The Society relies on over 500 committees around the world, 400 of which are active abroad, supporting schools, universities, libraries, Italian language courses, cultural and educational events, publications. The headquarters is located in Rome.
The Yerevan Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society was founded in 2018. Since its establishment, our mission is to promote the Italian language and culture in Armenia by offering certified Italian language courses, cultural events, lectures, seminars, film screenings, and institutional collaborations.
